Applicants can take advantage of the City of Gulfport Human Resources Computer Lab to complete an employment application.

DISPATCHER APPLICANTS:
The City of Gulfport, Civil Service administers the Public Safety Dispatcher/Call Taker Pre-employment testing. If you are interested in obtaining a career as a 911 dispatcher please apply to the open position. If you meet minimum qualifications for the position you will receive an email from Guardian Alliance to begin the background screening. POLICE OFFICER APPLICANTS:
For candidates who wish to obtain a career as a Patrol Officer, please apply to the open position. Once your application has been submitted, please call Human Resources to be schedule for the pre-employment Police exam test. A Valid State ID is required to test. Study guides are provided free of charge by the City of Gulfport Civil Service Department. The study guides may be picked up after an online application has been submitted.
**Must be 21+ years of age to be a Police Officer, unless you have a law enforcement emancipation.**
Per Mississippi State Statute 21-31-63: Any applicant for a position of any kind under civil service must be a citizen of the United States and an elector of the county in which he resides and must meet only such bona fide occupational residency requirements as may be determined by the civil service commission or the governing authority of the municipality.
